PSA: if there was an album you heard a couple years ago and thought it was ok, listen to it again and you might love it.
That's what happened to me with this album. I cannot fathom why it didn't stick with me back then. Same thing happened with Decoherence's Unitarity for that matter. Matten

Mysterious, suspenseful, and bitter, Paysage d'Hiver leaves me disoriented in the mountains while snow batters my shoulders and the darkness of night brings an unendurable chill. The atmosphere is evocative of pure isolation in the face of the most pernicious and unrelenting forms of nature, yet there's beauty to be found within each track. I return to this album often. This was my first experience with Paysage d"Hiver. If you have any interest in exploring the cold and dark side of atmospheric black metal, I would suggest this album to most new listeners. The inhospitable nature of being in a winter storm, with just the maw of the void staring back at you is what this album made me feel. Despite that, it is a comforting feeling. QQBeastMode
